After Class 10

Choosing Your Stream

This is the biggest fork in the road so far — but it is a fork, not a wall. Compare the four main paths below, then look at the crossover map to see how they connect to each other.

Crossover Map

Streams are starting points, not destinations

Real students regularly move sideways from their stream. Here are common, genuine crossovers:

From Science

→Design (via UCEED / NID)
→Civil Services (UPSC — open to all graduates)
→Data Science & Analytics
→Teaching (B.Ed after graduation)

From Commerce

→Analytics & Data (via statistics, Excel, SQL)
→Law (5-year integrated LLB via CLAT)
→Design & Entrepreneurship
→Teaching (Commerce & Economics)

From Arts

→Civil Services (a natural fit, very common path)
→Design (via NID / NIFT)
→Digital Media & Content Careers
→Teaching (a very natural next step)

Notice the pattern: Teaching and Civil Services are reachable from every stream. See the full detail on the Crossover Careers page.

A Fourth Path

Vocational & Skill-Based Education

Not every student needs a traditional degree first. ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) and Polytechnics offer focused, practical training leading directly into a trade or a diploma-level engineering role — often faster and more affordable.

It also connects horizontally: a Polytechnic diploma holder can later join a BTech via lateral entry, and skilled tradespeople increasingly move into entrepreneurship.
